Day 12 - Wednesday 27 July 2016

A lazy day (no photos today)

Today was a lazy day. I stayed at the casita most of the time, planned my trip to Antelope and Cathedral Canyon in the far north of Arizona, then Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park in southern Utah, followed by a visit to the Grand Canyon and on the way back to Sedona; a round trip of 4 days and 3 nights. I hadnít planned anything thus far so I needed to get my head around what roads to take, what to do/see at each place, accommodation where, etc. And lucky I did as it seemed that many of the Antelope Canyon tours were either fully or nearly fully booked so it was good to get in when I did. I also scoped what other walks I could possibly do around Sedona, as there seems to be plenty of them, and eventually got a short list down to about 5-6 awesome looking ones. So all day was spent planning, booking, mapping, googling, and finally getting the blog up to date.

At about 6 Charlotte knocked on the door and invited me go with her and Hassan to a Mexican eatery in West Sedona called Tortas de Fuego. Sounds like a good plan to me. It was a small place and mighty busy (and its always a good sign when you see Mexicanís eating from the place too). The food was great and I stuffed myself full. The only downside was that they didnít have a super hot chilli sauce. We arrived back at about 9 to Mocha, Charlotte and Hassanís dog, barking madly at a baby snake with tiger stripes on it that had made its way inside. Hassan did the manly thing and removed it whilst Charlotte and I trembled with fear. Shortly after I put myself to bed.
